WE ARE THE FALLEN, bei denen mit Ben Moody (guitar), John LeCompt (guitar) und Rocky Gray (drums) drei ex-EVANESCENCE-Leute aktiv sind, haben mit "Bury Me Alive" einen ersten Song auf ihrer Website veröffentlicht.
"Man's Addiction" und "As Long As You Love" heißen die beiden neuen Songs, die WOLFTRAP bei MySpace gepostet haben. In der Combo sind Leute von u.a. OMNIUM GATHERUM, MANITOU, MALPRACTICE und KAIHORO aktiv.
Die Norweger ANGST SKVADRON berufen sich laut Info darauf, Black Metal mit progressiven Klängen aus den 70er Jahren und psychedelischen Sounds zu kombinieren. Doch was am Ende auf ihrem neuesten Werk „Sweet Poison“ dabei herauskommt, könnte höchstens als Kammermusik für Prinz Valium herhalten. Witzigerweise nennt die Band den Opener des Albums bestätigenderweise auch noch „Valium Holocaust“, was den Inhalt der Platte sehr kurz und prägnant zusammenfasst. Das Sextett mit den Pseudonymen T.B, L.F.F, R.M, O.M.P, H.V, M.K und Session-Mitglied Chiron langweilt sich durch zehn Stücke, die zwar hin und wieder mit Piano-Einschüben, Chören und Frickelorgien aufgepeppt werden, sich aber wie Kaugummi dahin ziehen. Auch atmosphärisch bleibt diese zähe Mischung trotz ohrenscheinlichem Talent der Musiker weit hinter ihren Möglichkeiten zurück, denn der wenig organische, furzdröge Sound verstärkt die Wirkung dieser Schlaftablette noch. Hört Euch probeweise nur mal „We Miss Them“ oder den instrumentalen Titelsong an, der zwar ausnahmsweise kein monotones Gekrächze, sondern nette Orchestrierung bietet, ansonsten aber eher dem Sandmännchen als dem Deibel huldigt. Eine Scheibe für dauerbekiffte Experimentalisten!
THEATRE OF TRAGEDY haben etwas überraschend ihren Abschied verkündet. Nach dem letzten Gig am 02.10. in Stavanger soll nach 17 Jahren Schluss sein. Die Gothic-Metaller wollen nicht mehr so richtig und möchten wohl einfach auch zukünftig andere, familiäre Schwerpunkte setzen, doch lest selbst.
Offizielles Band-Statement:
"After nearly 17 years in existence Theatre of Tragedy has decided to call it a day and close down. This has not been an easy decision to make and we have thought about this for a long long time.
We finally agreed to this during the production of our latest album "Forever is the world". Theatre of Tragedy will come to an end on October 2nd 2010, exactly 17 years after we started making music together. Over the years all of us have strived to combine the Theatre with everyday life but in the end it has proven more and more difficult.
We have come to appreciate our family lives and jobs, which makes it very hard to continue this life of rock'n'roll on the road.
We know that some of you will probably be very disappointed, but we also hope you will continue to listen to our music, which all of you learned to appreciate and love so much. We want to thank everyone of you for all your support over the past 17 years.
Theatre of Tragedy wouldn't have been possible without you! Be sure to catch us on the last Theatre of Tragedy shows ever this year! The final gig will take place on October 2nd in Stavanger, where it all began.

Die deutschen Epic Metaller von ATLANTEAN KODEX haben unlängst einen Deal beim italienische Label Cruz Del Sur Music (u.a. die Heimat von WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, TWISTED TOWER und BATTLEROAR) ergattern können.
Die weltweite Veröffentlichung des Debütwerkes „The Golden Bought“ voraussichtlich im September 2010 stattfinden. Es soll dazu auch eine Deluxe Vinyl Ausgabe über das bekannte deutsche Vinyl Label Iron Kodex erscheinen. Atlantean Kodex sehen ihre Wurzeln tief im Sound der alten MANOWAR, BATHORY sowie dem klassischen Metal der 80er Jahre. Die „Pnakotic Demos“-EP verkaufte sich im reinen Eigenvertrieb bereits über 2.000 Mal. Die Band absolvierte auch schon anerkannte Auftritte u.a. auf dem KEEP IT TRUE und GAMMER OF DOOM Festival.
