Band:

Necrophagia

BiografieThe birth of NECROPHAGIA was solely inspired by Killjoys obsession with horror, upon first hearing VENOM and HELLHAMMER. NECROPHAGIA was formed in late 1983 by Killjoy. The band released various demos and in 1987 they released their full length debut "Season of the Dead", through New Renaissance. NECROPHAGIA broke up shortly afterwards claiming extreme musical differences.

In 1994 Philip Anselmo (PANTERA) and Killjoy began writing new material for the rebirth of NECROPHAGIA. A line up was assembled and featured Wayne Fabra on drums, Dustin Havnen on bass, Philip (Anton Crowley) Anselmo on guitar, and Killjoy. The band released "Holocausto de la Morte" and a MCD entitled "Black Blood Vomitorium" with this line-up. NECROPHAGIA then started its cooperation with Season of Mist and released another MCD "Cannibal Holocaust", which ended another era for the undisputed masters of horror. This MCD featured bassist Jared Faulk and keyboardist Opal Enthroned.

Shortly hereafter, Season of Mist released the DVD entitled "Through Eyes of the Dead". Featuring material from the movie "Cannibal Holocaust", this DVD was banned in several countries.

In 2002, NECROPHAGIA revamped its line-up once again and unleashed "The Divine Art of Torture", featuring the harrowing line-up of Frediablo and Fug on guitar, Iscariah (IMMORTAL) on bass, Titta Tani on drums, and Mirai Kawashima (SIGH) on keyboards. The band wreaked havoc throughout Europe on their first European tour dubbed NecroTorture.

NECROPHAGIA went into the studio shortly afterwards and began recording their next release, an MCD titled "Goblins be Thine" (Red Stream). During this tine NECROPHAGIA released their new DVD "Nightmare Scenarios" which featured videos by legendary horror icons including Paul Naschy and Coffin Joe.

After a short break the band entered the studio once again to record their newest release, "Harvest Ritual Volume I". For this album NECROPHAGIA again joins forces with Season of Mist. "Harvest Ritual Volume I" features guest appearances by Bill Mosely and Joey Jordison, and features the bands heaviest, darkest, and most horror filled effort to date. Combining eerie rhythms, haunting passages, and Killjoys ever possessed vocals to ensure NECROPHAGIA are truly the pioneers of audio horror and continue to reign supreme in the extreme metal genre.

NECROPHAGIA will tour the world extensively on their upcoming Harvesting the Dead 2005-2006 tour. Before entering the studio to record "Harvest Ritual Volume II" (The Awakening of Sin).Quelle: http://www.season-of-mist.com/bands/necrophagiaDiscografie1984 - Death Is Fun (Demo)

Deathtrip 69 - Cover
Seit knapp 30 Jahren genießen Killjoy und seine öfter mal wechselnde Crew einen unangefochtenen Kultstatus innerhalb der Death Metal-Szene, der sich nicht Jedermann erschließen will.
Goblins Be Thine - Cover
Es gibt Menschen, die würden wohl auch Killjoys aufgenommen Püpse auf CD kaufen - und sie toll finden.
Harvest Ritual Volume 1 - Cover
The Divine Art Of Torture - Cover
Liegt auf der Band ein Fluch? Erst hatte das Label keinen Vertrieb (der inzwischen gefunden ist), dann ging das Artwork mehrmals flöten. Nun denn, es scheint geschafft.
