Band:

Abominator

BiografieABOMINATOR was formed on a bloodletting day in late 1994 by Chris Volcano (drums & vokills) and Andrew Undertaker (murderous guitars). The aim was to create the most brutal black/death/war metal possible to assault this realm. After much construction, the 1995 demo ´Barbarian war worship´ in May of that year.

This recieved a positive response from the underground and is noted as being one of the most chaotic and brutal demos ever. It was later to be released as a split CD with swedish death metal band MORNALAND.

In late 95, Deathsaw Dave (guitars) and Gary Gestapo (bass) were added to the line up and after a handful of eventful gigs, one of which was with BESTIAL WARLUST, their vocalist Damon Bloodstorm departed and joined ABOMINATOR on bass and vokals and Gary Gestapo was dismissed.

After more dark projection and battle planning, in early 1997 the demo ´The Conqueror Possessed´ was recorded, this time retaining the bands chaotic sound, but displayed a much more progressed form of black/death.

After some more gigs, and the departure of Deathsaw Dave, Bloodstorm visited the US and caught up with the people at Necropolis records who took an instant liking to ABOMINATOR. This resulted in an album deal which resulted in the recording of the album ´Damnations Prophecy´ in mid 1998 as well as a track for the Necropolis records ´Thrashing Holocaust´ compilation 99.

´Damnations...´ was to display the full extent of ABOMINATOR´s repetoire and recieved rave reviews in some press. This was followed by gigs, more songwriting and many drunken nights.

In late 99 Bloodstorm stopped playing bass to concentrate more on Vokal lust. In early 2000 Steve Undinism was added as a session bass player for a rather violent gig we were to play later that year. Around this time ABOMINATOR was ready to record the hyper brutal ´Subversives for Lucifer´ album. Shortly after the rythm tracks had been laid down, Necropolis records decided they no longer wanted to support the band so the contract was rendered void. This left the band with half an album recorded and no label.

However ABOMINATOR forged on regardless. Soon after the mixing was complete, a promo was sent off to many labels worldwide. Soon after, we were offered a contract with french label OSMOSE productions and the album ´Subversives for Lucifer´ was released in mid to late 2001. This album displayed a huge step up in the overall sound of the band, offering much faster, tighter and more chaotic songs. It too recieved great reviews from the world underground.

In early 2001, we enlisted the services of Max Krieg on vocals, formerly of NZ band COVEN. His brutal voice added to the bands already chaotic sound to create an even darker and more sinister feeling.

After some gigs in Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra, footage for a film clip was shot for the Osmose ´world domination´ DVD in early 2002. The band has now added Valak Exhumer (Bass assault) to the line up and will begin recording their new album ´Nuctemeron Descent´ in October 2002.

In early 2003 the new album was completed, and ABOMINATOR has embarked upon various gigs to promote the latest instilling of chaos. Promotion for ´Nuctemeron descent´ commenced with a gig with INCANTATION at the Esplanade hotel in June 2003 followed by other local gigs. ´Nuctemeron descent´ was finally unleashed in late 2003 and recieved rave reviews from the worldwide underground, offering the most brutal and proficient ABOMINATOR album and one of the most intense black/death metal albums at that time.

Some gigs were performed shortly after, playing with the likes of DESTROYER 666, HOBBS ANGEL OF DEATH and GOSPEL OF THE HORNS. This continued for the first half of 2004 with gigs around Melbourne as well as a gig in SYDNEY, in June 2004. The band was also booked to play at the Bloodlust 2004 festival, but vocalist Max Krieg left the band as well as the country totally unexpectedly, thus leaving the band without a vocalist and having to cancel all future shows. This did not, however, deter the band from pursuing further musical extremities.

At around this time the band was dumped from the Osmose label and after some careful consideration it was determined that Displeased records was the most suitable label to handle ABOMINATOR´s music, and in early 2005 finally signed up a two album deal with the Displeased label. ABOMINATOR continued to compose new material in late 2004/early 2005 and hit ´Jam Tin´ studios to record the latest album ´The Eternal Conflagration´ in mid 2005. It is the heaviest and catchiest ABOMINATOR material to date with eight tracks of pure satanic aussie chaos. Chris Volcano once again took up vocal duties in the absence of a full-time vocalist. Sheduled for release on May the 28th, 2006, it promises crush all in its path with unprecedented fury, reminding the world the end times are, in fact, upon us...........

The Eternal Conflagration - Cover
Kollege Knackstedt konnte "Nuctemeron Descent", dem 2004er Werk des australischen Urgesteins ABOMINATOR einiges abgewinnen und hätte demzufolge auch Spass mit dem neuen Album "The Eternal Conflagratio
