Band:

Vermis

BiografieThe origin of VERMIS goes back into the year 2000 when Markus (g, d, v) and Marco (g, b, k) still had a side project besides their main band Obsidian Gate, which played some kind of orchestral influenced black metal. The side project was the uncontrolled, brutal essence of black metal called Cruciatus. But when time went by, the band got bored by always playing the same black metal stuff with all the clichees which nowadays became a hilarious farce with nothing behind. So both members decided to pause and gain some fresh inspirations, which lasted until late 2003.

With new found strength and creativity going back to their roots, Markus started to write some stuff more deep and inspired by both old school and modern Death Metal. First, they tried to implement the new stuff into their main band, with only less effort. Though it was needed to force their new stuff into shape, so Obsidian Gate was laid on ice early 2004 and VERMIS was officially born. Henning Auer, a long time friend of the band, joined and added another dimension to the music with his both growling and hearse screaming vocals. Time went by quickly, and in summer 2004 the band recorded a two-track rehearsal demo just for promotional needs. It became really good for this purpose revealing tunes of blast, midtempo and twisted but not overambitious, yet catchy guitars and sopme sick voices.

In November 2004, Phil Infernal from Khaosick joined the band as drummer and alll were blown away by his untamed speed and technical abilities. With this highly talented maniac on the drum-throne, VERMIS has new oppurtunities in writing even more brutal stuff, so it was only short before those slight black metal traces vanished completely.

To complete the line-up, VERMIS recruited Tobias Bruchmann, also playing in Night In Gales and In Blackest Velvet, as the new bassman. His deep, aggressive style fits perfectly and now VERMIS is able to perform future live-massacres.

Now the band is near to complete the songwriting on the first CD which will be out in summer 2005.

Tobias left the band in April 2005. Now VERMIS is in search for a new bassplayer again.

In May 2005, VERMIS records the song "Deathstorm Cycling" for the "Gentle Carnage" underground compilation.

Liturgy Of The Annihilated - Cover
Achtung, die Polen kommen. Oder Irgendwelche Amis. Könnte Death-Metaller jedenfalls glauben, wenn er sich diese CD uninformiert anhört.
