Sabbath Assembly

As it is.

Sabbath Assembly is the concept of musician Dave Nuss, developed in conversation with former Processean Timothy Wyllie and his book publisher Jodi Wille, formerly of Process Media, Inc. The intent of the band is to share the music and theology of the Process Church of the Final Judgment, a religious movement that came and went in the 60′s and 70′s UK and US spiritual awakening. Recognizing that our current age requires a slightly more nuanced tone than the time of the original Process, Nuss, the band, and the publishers of the band including the Ajna Offensive, claim only to be interpreters of the music and message, not historical documentarians. Our intention is to provide moving music and transformational teachings for our audience, and to encourage dialogue around the complex issues of religion, philosophy, and their intersection in personal and global politics.

The stance of the band, and its interpretation of Process teaching, is that neither good or evil can be fully repressed; therefore embracing both sides in balance brings the most satisfaction and peace. Frequent problem arise from both repression, most often in the name of religion, and indulgence, most often in the form of unbridled consumerism; for every action has a reaction, and every unacknowledged aspect of our rich and deep personalities finds a way into our external world unconsciously and often disfunctionally. We each have a personal responsibility to attend to our eccentricities; conformity, or “the way of the Grey,” has no place in Processean individuation of the Self.

We hope you find the hymns, teachings, and prayers as inspiring as we do, and we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at an upcoming performance. All teachings and prayers on this site are copyright The Process Church of the Final Judgment, 1967 & 1968.

So be it.
