Band:

Membaris

Biografie1999: Beginning
Membaris was founded on October the 18th 1999. The line-up remained stable and represents till this day a strong and inspired black-metal-collective. The bands intention was to create fast, aggressive, dark and bizarre music. Inspired by old Scandinavian and German heroes.

2002: "When Darkness Reigns..."
The first manifestation was the Demo "When Darkness Reigns..."(2002) which was recorded by the band on a four-track machine. The sound is very unique and raw. The CD had to be limited and is sold out. Several gigs in Germany have been played in the same year.

2004: "Poetry of Chaos"
In 2003 the recording of the first full-length "Poetry of Chaos" started in Northeim with assistance of the Black Metal-Brotherhood DarkBound. After a long mixing-process "Poetry of Chaos" was finally released on March the 27th 2004. Membaris received enthusiastic reactions from Black Metal-fans and zines. Some gigs with bands like Morrigan, Dark Fortress, Asaru, Secrets of the Moon, Fiend and Disillusion followed.

2005-2007 "Into Nevermore"
A well known label showed interest in releasing the next output. The band signed a contract for the release of "Into Nevermore". In 2005 Membaris started to work hard on the new opus which was recorded in September 2005 in Ultraton Studio. The decision to trust this label turned out to be a bad arbitration. They did nothing to release the recording. After a quite frustrating time full of anger against the responsible persons the band withdrew from the contract and made a new one with the young and motivated German label ARTicaz. The releasedate for "Into Nevermore" was dated June the 15th 2007.

Several gigs in Germany followed the release.

Into Nevermore - Cover
Es ist schon schade, dass unsägliche Labels jungen Bands die musikalische Zukunft verbauen - oder sie zumindest stark behindern.
