Band:

Mahatma

BiografieMahatma's debut album, "The Endless Struggle Against Time", was comprised of songs that the band had been playing since they were young. Now, two years later, they present their 2nd album, "Perseverence" which shows the band improving in every way such that it is difficult to even compare it to their 1st album. It is the heaviest Korean album to date, and is comprised of high quality music that puts it in the top tier of albums.

The album begins with the short intro track "There Is No Hope Without Suffering", setting the lyrical theme for the songs to come. From the next track "Beginning Of The End", which begins the indiscriminate slaughter of slashing riffs and hammering drums, to the poetic "Despair Overcome", each recorded track showcases Mahatma's unique and outstanding compositions and execution. The album also includes one of heavy metal's most famous songs, Judas Priest's "Painkiller". While remaining faithful to the spirit of the song, Mahatma add their own unique touch to this classic.

The production of the album gives life to the modern heavy metal sound. In terms of style, the songs are heavy and fast with the occasional groove metal influence.

Mahatma's live presence is an explosion of sound and fury on the stage. As in the theme of this album, Mahatma look forward to the approaching day when their hard work and dedication pay off.

Since forming in 1993, MAHATMA have strived constantly to develop and hone their own style. Pursuing their powerful and heavy sound, they are securing their place as one of Korea's true metal bands. They have proven their worth in the underground playing shows with their musical ability and stage presence. While pursuing their original brand of heavy metal, MAHATMA strive to be an uncompromising musical force. Through many live shows, they have shown their audiences their conviction; they consider metal to be their single, everlasting inspiration.

Korea's strongest heavy metal band describe their musical philosophy simply as follows: "Headbanging is our reason for living!"

Perseverance - Cover
Sie hören auf mit dem Headbangen, wenn sie tot sind. Soso, das schreiben die Koreaner (nein, keine Inder) also.
