HYPNOS

HYPNOS was founded in the year of 1999 by former members of another Czech death band KRABATHOR, BRUNO (bass/vocals) and PEGAS (drums). Having signed with Morbid Records (DE) in 2000, the self-titled MCD was released; followed by the launching of ‘In Blood We Trust’ debut album during the same year, which featured Mika Luttinen / IMPALED NAZARENE as guest vocalist. The release was promoted during the NO MERCY FESTIVAL over Europe while touring alongside MORBID ANGEL, DYING FETUS, BEHEMOTH, ENSLAVED, and THE CROWN.

In 2001, the 2nd album “The Revenge Ride”, produced by Harris JOHNS (HELLOWEEN, SODOM, KREATOR, or VOIVOD), was released. Meanwhile, HYPNOS participated in various events including WITH FULL FORCE, SUMMER BREEZE, PARTY-SAN, and HELL ON EARTH among others. The 3rd album “Rabble Manifesto” (2005) recorded again with Harris JOHNS got nominated for the Czech “Anděl” Award (a Grammy Award equivalent) under the Hard and Heavy category. In January 2006 HYPNOS toured with CENTINEX and PURGATORY.

The EP “Halfway To Hell” was released in the 2010 year and band performed at the BRUTAL ASSAULT Fest (CZ), followed by three shows together with NAPALM DEATH. Overtime, Hypnos got signed with the German label Einheit Produktionen, and the 4th album entitled “Heretic Commando / Rise Of The New Antikrist” saw the light in 2012. Recording duties were handled by the Norwegian sound engineer Børge FINSTAD who worked with bands like MAYHEM, BORKNAGAR, ARCTURUS, and ULVER. As well, Hypnos shot a performance video entitled ‘Inverted’, a track featured in the same album. The video recording and editing was handled by Mejla Basel, who was responsible for MACHINE HEAD ‘Darkness Within’ and the Czech “Oscar” Academy Award winner MARKETA IRGLOVA videos.Later on, Hypnos toured with NAPALM DEATH, and later with VADER. In spring 2014, HYPNOS supported Swedish AMON AMARTH on their East European tour. In the same year, Mystic Production published 666 copies of BRUNO´s auto-biography book entitled “Revoltikon”. The same publication went sold out in 3 months following the release date.

In 2015, BRUNO and PEGAS teamed up with CHRISTOPHER to perform a reunion gig for KRABATHOR at BRUTAL ASSAULT FESTIVAL. Given both success and demand, the reunion gig got extended to a short tour across Czech and Slovakia in March 2015. Additionally, a 3-disc CD/DVD release entitled “Rebirth Of Brutality” was released in 2015 via MYSTIC PRODUCTIONS featuring a full live recording of a sold-out show in the band’s hometown Uherské Hradiště.

During 2016, HYPNOS recorded the fifth full-length album entitled “The Whitecrow” together with Børge FINSTAD; which was released in 24.4.2017 via Einheit Produktionen. The album features guest appearances from Christopher (KRABATHOR), Martin Missy (PROTECTOR), Paul Speckmann (MASTER), and V. SANTURA (TRIPTYKON, DARK FORTRESS). The album was promoted across Europe while touring with God Dethroned, Neocaesar, Anthem, Dira Mortis, and Deathreat (PL). In 2018, HYPNOS played its first headlining European tour.

Over the years, the band played more than 350 shows in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, France, Holland, Belgium, and Italy.
