BiografieGlittertind was founded early autumn 2001 by Torbjørn Sandvik(b-85). Spellbound by Mother Nature, Nordic tales, -art, -traditions and -history, he really wanted to dedicate his music to these themes which fascinated him so much. Glittertind is the name of one of the highest mountains in the majestic mountain rage "Jotunheim" in Norway. Many people call this part of Norway the "heart of Norway", so the band name was very suitable.



The band is a "one-man project" and started this way because it was difficult to find others who would be dedicated to a type of music which mixes metal, punk and Nordic folk-music. In this modern world where national borders seem to vanish more and more and cultures are turning into a large melting pot, the themes mentioned above are not exactly "main-stream".



Nevertheless nothing would stop this guy from doing music with these themes. In the period 2001-2002 two demos were recorded and "released" underground. The feedback was very promising, but still no decent label showed any interest. Finally after a third demo in 2004, Karmageddon Media got their eyes up for Glittertind, and thus a deal was inked. They saw the great development and potential in this band and wanted to release the bands first album, "Evige Asatro".
