Band:

Devil Lee Rot

BiografieTHE STORY OF DLR

Early band in the studio

INTRODUCTION

What kind of a band is Devil Lee rot?? DLR as we´ll call ourselvesin this text, is not a technical thrash och black metal band. It is not commercial. Its not played with fluid perfecton. Non of theese qualities appeal to us. DLR is a small band, but with a loyal following, never the less. And that is what matters to us. Theese people are the most important ones around. DLR will NEVER change, and become commericial in any sense. Most people dont understand us, and they will always continue to turn us down. DLR is about love for classic heavy metal and underground music. Its about having fun playing to a audiance.

HISTORY

Devil Lee Rot the person has his roots in 80´s metal. He spent those years singing in various unserious bands. In time he settled down and formed the cult outfit Autopsy Torment. They released a lot of demos but ended up giving it up. Devils´s next project turned out to be Pagan Rites, a cult band by todays standards.

It took a lot of years before Devil decided to do somtheing on his own. He asked a couple of guys to help him out with a four track demo and a 7" was released on Iron Pegasus Records, containing the tracks "Infernal ressurection", "The sky rained death", "Pilgrim in the age of fire" and finaly "Pagan from the heat".

Devil Lee Rot as a band, was not ment to be a very serious one. Just a couple of guys who wanted to record something fun and litsen to it. But the band soon became rather popular. Guitarist J.Voltage and bassist Demon later joined the band and the First Album was recorded, going by the name "A Little Devil Aint Enough". It was released on CD by Witches Brew, and the LP print was handeled by Miriquidi. The drumming was performed by Vince Black.

The Demon & Devil Lee Rot & Big Boss

Right after this record was recorded, Pagan Rites were to play in Germany. However, due to problems within the band, DLR the band ended up playing there instead. The gig went very well, and Devil understood that the audience went crazy for this kind of music, a raw mix of traditional Heavy Metal with a extreme Vocal twist. He noted that even those who were only into Heavy Metal liked this extreme music. With a major kick in the ass the band rushed into the studio shortly after the gig and recorded "Hellscraper". This record is only released on a 2 for 1 cd by Witches Brew.

Shortly afterwards Vince Black left DLR. He was replaced by the far more competent drummer M.Bombarder. The band also became a twin lead guitar machine when Harri Van Hell joined.

Hedlund & Harri van Hell

The band recorded The third album, "Soldiers From Hell". This was even more of a Heavy Metal record. The band wanted to get rid of their Black Metal accosiation. It was released on a 10" Lp.

However Harri moved to Finland and D.Slaughter joined.

And later, Metal Dictator was recorded. This proved to be a gigant leap in both production and quality. "Soldiers" & "Dictator" ended up on a split CD. There was also a LP of "Dictator" released after a year.

The Force did also recorded some kind of "best of" under Witches Brew called Metalizer including some new and some old-re-recorded tracks…4 of the tracks on Metalizer were released on the Swedish label I HATE RECORDS as a split Lp!

Lenny blade took over the Bass duties. Demon left.

And after all the struggle, DLR were finally picked up by a bigger record company. So far they were only handled by smaller german labels. Now Iron Fist Productions signed the band for one record. And "At Hells Deep" was released. A gigant leap foward. Well recieved by undergound critics. And a major kick for the band.

J.Voltage

And after a show in Malmoe, sweden. J.voltage left the band.

Bruno Buneck aka B.Hellrazor came in and took over the guitar duties. The man is a 666% fit.

The band is now growing and growing. Pregressing as you read this.

This is the new wave of swedish blackened heavy metal!!!
