Band:

Moonfrost

BiografieMoonfrost was founded by Draugrym, Thorn and Graven in 2001. After performing at the Ripped Corpse festival the first demo was unleashed in 2002, a mix of black and death metal. In the following years the style of the band drifted toward pagan black metal and the song "Dark times to come" was featured on the german "Schneesturm" sampler, alongside bands like Paysage d'hiver, Nordlicht and others.

In 2005 Moonfrost performed live at the Death to Peace I festival with Dark Fortress and Farsot, leaving a permanent scar in the memory of swiss black metal fans. That concert also enabled the band to sign up with Schwarzmetall Musikproduktionen (SMP) in 2006. In 2007 the pagan black metal songs were recorded and released as the album "...towards the twilight realm".

In the following year (2008) Moonfrost teamed up with Mahr on the second guitar. Several concerts were played in this lineup, and the band was signed to Sturmklang, a sublabel of Steinklang Industries. At the end of 2010, Mahr had to leave the band, because we felt that we lost more than we gained by having him in the band.

The CD "Starfall" was planned to be released on the 21.12.2010 under Sturmklang, however it was delayed by the label due to financial problems. In the end Sturmklang had to cancel the deal, so Moonfrost signed with Gravity Entertainment. This was a very good development for the band. The production of "Starfall" is finished, and we are eagerly awaiting the release date: 13.1.2012. Quelle: http://www.myspace.com/moonfrostDiscografie2002 - Demo 2002

Starfall - Cover
Die Schweizer MOONFROST gehören eindeutig zu den melodischeren und auch progressiveren Vertretern des Schwarzmetalls der Alten Schule.
