Bourbon Flame

BiografieFinally here it is, Bourbon Flame's debut album! I've been waiting for this one since late 2003 already but damn, it was definitely worth the wait!! Their latest demo "Table dance" dates from 2003 already and since then the line-up grew to four members; Janto (Hades Almighty) on vocals and bass, Erik (Deathcon, ex-Aeternus) on drums and backing vocals, Ice Dale (Enslaved, I, Audrey Horne) on guitar and backing vocals and finally T. Ringstad on guitar and backing vocals.

The biography which came with the promotional CD is not complete I've noticed...it mentioned one demo from 2003 entitled "Back in the saddle". To be honest I don't know this one or it should be the same as the "Table dance" demo which is also from 2003 and includes the track "Back in the saddle"?! Furthermore Bourbon Flame also released a two-track demo in 2002 though this one isn't mentioned anywhere....which is a shame since it's a killer demo which I still enjoy a lot!!!

On to the music now. Bourbon Flame is the 21th century version of Guns 'n' Roses, Motley Crüe etc., in other words: mean bad-ass rock 'n' roll. Don't expect Bourbon Flame to re-invent the wheel here. Nothing new to discover. But come on, who gives a fuck anyway?! Bourbon Flame plays with so much dedication and sincerity that they equal aforementioned names. I even dare to go a step further by saying this album is better than any other album in this specific musical style! Already after the first listen you'll get hooked and become addicted to this album. Many of the songs on this album have this 'sing along' vibe which makes "Bourbon Flame" an ideal album to play at parties and then to get liquoered while singing along.

Both demos are also featured on this debut album; "Rock vice" and "Back in the saddle" are from the latest demo "Table dance" (or should I say "Back in the saddle"?) and "High on the bourbon Flame" comes from the self-titled debut demo.

I had very high expectations from Bourbon Flame and their debut album but I just knew these guys wouldn't let me down. With this self-titled full-length they gave me everything I was hoping for; a mean bad-ass rock 'n' roll album that feels like a kick in the balls after way too much liquor. I really hope these guys will be picked up by a large audience worldwide because they really deserve the attention for bringing back good and nasty rock!! If we should give a score to albums here at VM than I would definitely salute Bourbon Flame with a 100 out of 100 points!!! Quelle: http://www.myspace.com/bourbonflameDiscografie208 Bourbon Flame
