Tender Souvenirs has developed their own distinctive brand of post-rock. Their sound may at first glance may evoke comparison to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Sigur Rôs and Mogwai, or maybe even a less streamlined Coldplay, but it should be clear for most that have heard their debut album that this is a whole new experience in HiFi dreamscapes.

Martin Sassners vocals and trumpet drift in and out of a tightly knitted psychedelic weave of guitars, loops and synths, backed by the solid pounding of double drummers. Translating the enormous momentum that Tender Souvenirs gather in live performances into a recording would prove to be a difficult task, as evidenced by the two years spent checking in and out of studios to record this debut album.

The live feeling has been kept, (in the sense it is at all possible in a recording studio) by playing and recording every song in one take without overdubs.
