BiografieToteM was formed in January 2002 in a small city Bukowno (40 km from Krakow). Their goal was to play melodic thrash/death metal inspired by such legendary bands as Sepultura, Slayer, Arch Enemy or In Flames. In April 2002, the band recorded their first demo "Pink Drink With Red Bull Shit". In the beginning of July 2002, the idea of the debut album was born. New musicians appeared in the band and in September 2002 ToteM entered Zed Studio in Olkusz. The debut album “Intro” was recorded in the following line-up: Wera and Auman on the vocals, Dzierz and Rudy on the guitars, Fulba on the bass and Toma on the drums. As part of the promotion of the “Intro” album, the band played many gigs around Poland. These included “Thrash The South” tour with Horrorscope, The No-Mads, Atrophia Red Sun, and Whorehouse, as also a mini-tour with Decapitated. The years 2005-2007 brought shows and festivals at which the band promoted the material from their subsequent album "Day Before The End". Apart from playing various tours alongside Chainsaw, Flapjack, Schizma, Hedfirst or Blood Is The Harvest, ToteM appeared also at some festivals: Hunterfest 2006 and 2007 and Metalmania 2006.

Totem’s second album "Day Before The End" constitutes an exciting combination of elements distinctive of the old Sepultura and Slayer as well as Arch Enemy. It’s an ambitious mixture of death and thrash metal influences which surely will be appreciated by many metalheads! Some of ToteM’s band members also recorded albums with other metal bands: Wera (Sceptic), Toma (Frontside), Auman (Frontside), Rudy (Heart Attack).
