Band:

The Pythons

BiografieSince October 2000 The Pythons have continued to propose a granitic rock and roll, which has its greatest strength in the compactness of the arrangements, with the melodic component of American Rock.

The Pythons are: Frank (vocals), The True (guitars), Nick Donati (guitars), Andrea Valenza (bass) and George Costa (drums).
Every musician has its own musical background. Nick Donati comes from the melodic rock-blues scene, whereas the other members have their roots in heavy metal. In particular, The True played in a prog metal band, Thy Sirma, while Frank and George played together in a power metal band. Furthermore, Giorgio plays also in a band which proposes sonorities linked to the dark wave, the Bloody Mary. So, the music of the band presents many features and its american rock sound is enriched by the different experiences of its members, which create an original and personal atmosphere.
The band, in its almost five years of activity, has played in a lot of clubs in Milan and in the north of Italy (for example Rolling Stone, Transilvania live, Binario Zero, Indian Saloon (Bresso), Charlie´s (Mn), La Sfinge (Bs)).
In 2001 the band has played in Rimini for the I TIM tour with famous italian artists. On September 2001 the band has recorded its first studio work, “In the Rain”. One of the songs contained in this mini-cd has been inserted in the Saturday Night Live Compilation (Sony Music), and has been played several times by some italian rock radios (for example Rock FM, Radio Lupo Solitario). In june 2003,the band has been selected to partecipate at the national contest Sund’n’Sound, organized by the famous italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, and came in third among ten finalist bands.
During the autumn of the 2003 the band has had a very intensive live activity in the north-italy, and the 9th of January 2004 has presented the special edition of the second demo tape, Four Stones, in one of the biggest live club in Milan, the Transilvania Live. Four Stones has obtained fantastic reviews in important music magazines and webzines in Italy (Eutk, Metal Hammer, Slam!, HardSounds etc.) and all over the world (SleazyRoxx Canada, Metal Hammer Germany, SleaztGrinder U.S.A., Strutter Magazine Holland), and has been played in many rock radios all over the world (Rock Invasion” su Radio Antenna2, Radio Lupo Solitario, “Symphony of Silence” su Radio Onde Furlane, Rock and an Hard Place U.S.A, Metal Heart Radio Greece etc.).
During the summer of 2004 Rock Hard magazine, the biggest hard rock magazine in Italy, has choose one of the songs contained in Four Stones (Texas Queen) for its July/August-issue compilation.
During the 2004 the band has continued to play a lot of gig everywhere. In May 2004 Luke Minichiello, the first bass player, has quit the band, and after many auditions Andrew Valenza has joined The Pythons.
The band keeps on rockin’ around Italy, even with the Whitesnake original giutar heroes, Mickey Moody e Bernie Marsden, durino their Italian tour, with Alice Cooper, during the 2005 summer edition of the GlamAttakk.
