Band:

ExInferis

BiografieExInferis was formed in 1999 by David on drums, Kevin and Angelo on guitar and Marti on vocals.

The band played it’s first gig in February 1999 and soon the band got great reviews for their energetic shows and brutal music, mixing elements of death-metal, black-metal and also some hardcore parts. ExInferis played the first shows without a bass-player, but Marc took over on bass in May 1999.

Later that year ExInferis went into the studio to records their first MCD entitled ‘Everything is burning... so doth your soul’. During the recording-sessions, Marti left the band and was replaced by Stefano shortly after. This first release got the band good exposure in Belgium, France and the UK. In April the band went over to the UK for a short tour. In Belgium ExInferis played many shows in Brussels and throughout Europe.

Following this short tour, Skipworth Records approached the band to re-release ‘Everything is burning...’. ExInferis however preferred to put out new songs, having already evolved in their songwriting and released a split-cd with Ganesha called ‘ExInferis analyzing Ganesha’. This split-cd was released in June 2001, after a second tour to the UK in April 2001, where the band got to play the famous Camden-Underworld to close off the tour.

Shortly after the release of this split-cd, ExInferis was contacted by the US-Label Battlescarred Records and recorded three songs in November 2001 for a 4-way split along the US-bands Hostility, Existence and Sworn Vengeance. The ‘4-Way Deathmatch’ was released in June 2002.

In 2003 the band found itself without a rehearsal-place for a few months already, when they parted ways with longtime singer Stefano for different reasons. In December 2003 ExInferis finally found a new frontman in Fabrice, who had helped us out on vocals for a few shows since the departure of Stefano.

Fabrice brought new energy to the band. During thr first half of 2004 the band wrote the songs for their new release. In August 2004, ‘Defunctus in Heresi’ was recorded at the Midas Studio in Lokeren, Belgium with producer Tony DeBlock.

In January 2005 the cd was released and since then the band has been playing as many shows as possible in order to promote the new cd. The new songs and new line-up have been welcomed very well by the audience and the cd got very good reviews all over the world. Live the band has been more active than ever in 2004-2005, playing shows in
France, Belgium, Germany and the highlights of 2005 being the participation at the Bilborock Rock and Metal Contest in Bilbao, Spain and reaching the 3rd position among more than 18 selected bands in the metal category. Another highlight was the opening slot for a sold-out Apocalyptica-show at the Kulturfabrik in Esch/Alzette, Luxembourg.
