The Neil Campbell Collective is the performing vehicle for Neil´s progressive songs and instrumental pieces - featuring lyrical vocals and classical guitar playing (often electronically processed with looping, fast delay lines and morphing kaoss pad textures), the powerful, versatile, and often virtuoso, rhythm section of Mark Brocklesby and Paul Raey, the lyrical contributions of cellist Nicole Austin and the lush vocal harmonies of Claire Jones and Stuart Todd.




Neil Campbell is a composer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist. Working in collaboration and as a solo artist he has accumulated a large number of compositions drawing on a wide range of musical influences and interests.



Following involvement in the Liverpool free improvisation scene he formed an electronic improv duo with Neil Murphy called ´Jose´s Fish´. Around this time he began to undertake postgraduate studies in Music specialising in Composition, developing a body of work based on the use of musical systems or automatic compositional processes.



A classical guitarist for over 20 years he has come to specialise in writing and performing his own brand of acoustic guitar music. Over the last three years he has also poured his activities as a songwriter into work with the Neil Campbell Collective
