- Spring 2000, Minor Majority is started as a studio project with Pål Angelskår and Andreas Berczelly. Pål is singing his songs and playing the guitar while Andreas is producing and playing the keyboards. As Andreas decides not to play live, Norwegian artist Karen Jo fields is recruited as a live-member playing the piano and singing backing vocals.


- Spring 2001, Minor Majority supports Chris and Carla of The Walkabouts at Rockefeller Concert Hall in Oslo. The debut album ”Walking from Nicole’s” is released through Big Dipper Records. Jon Arild Stieng participates as guitarist on ”She’s A New Yorker”. The album receives very good reviews in Norwegian newspapers.


- November 2001, Jon Arild Stieng is recruited as a full time member of the band.


The radio-single ”Electrolove” is on a three months rotation on national radio In Norway.


- Spring 2002, first tour in Norway.


- October 2002, Minor Majority release their second album ”If I Told You, You Were Beautiful”. The album is recorded in Jon Arild’s little house in the woods outside Oslo. The members of the band are now Pål Angelskår and Jon Arild Stieng. Andreas Bersczelly is still the producer and participates as a musician during the recordings. Karen Jo Fields appears as a guest singer on some songs. Minor Majority is with the second album again acclaimed in the press. The radio single ”Dancing in the Backyard” is on frequent rotation on national radio.


- November 2002, Minor Majority plays support for the American band Violent Femmes at the Rockefeller Concert Hall in Oslo.


- December 2002, ”If I Told You, You Were Beautiful” is nominated “Best Pop Group” at Spellemannsprisen, the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards.


Also, Minor Majority is invited to the culture-festival ”Christmas at Union Station” in Washington DC. where they perform along side Norwegian artists Furia and Bjørn Berge. The band also plays at “Park Side Lounge” in East Village, New York.


- January 2003, Minor majority has a new line-up for the second Norwegian-tour. The band becomes a trio as Harald Sommerstad joins to play the organ. The band travels around as a trio throughout the spring.


- Summer 2004, Minor Majority is invited to play at the Quart-festival, Norway’s biggest outdoor festival, and appears as a quintet after two months in the rehearsal room. New members being bassist Henrik Harr Widerøe and drummer Halvor Høgh Winsnes, a.k.a. Fast Winston Doom from the band Thulsa Doom. After the Quart-festival Minor Majority starts recording “Up For You & I”, the studio being set up in Harald’s cabin outside of Halden, close to the Swedish border. A million’s worth of equipment is brought in by a car borrowed from fellow Norwegian band Bronco Busters. Unfortunately, the car catches fire half way there rendering Harald and Halvor helpless on the highway. Luckily, no one is injured and true friend Jens Herman Ruge comes to the rescue in the middle of the night. Finally the bandmembers manage to get equipment and personnel safely to the cabin. Andreas Berczelly continues as producer and sound engineer and the recording lasts for two weeks, the warmest two weeks in the summer of 2003. The finishing process, with recordings of inter alia strings and harmonica is carried out in Berczellyd Studio in Oslo. The album is completed two weeks before Christmas 2003.


- January 2004, Minor Majority releases their third album ”Up For You & I”. The reviews from a unanimous press are overwhelming. The radio-single ”She Gave Me Away” is on frequent rotation on national radio.


- February-April 2004, The band goes on an extended tour in Norway, the first as a five piece band. Minor majority is met with crowded clubs and theatres as well as good critiques all over the country.


- May 2004,”Up For You & I” is released in France, Benelux and Switzerland through French label Vicious Circle, the foreign reviews being continuingly as generous as the domestic.


- July 2004, Minor Majority plays at three festivals in France.


- August 2004, Minor Majority receives the Gold Record for selling 20.000 copies of the album “Up For You & I” in Norway. A proud Pål Angelskår is handed his Gold Album from his teenage idol Evan Dando of The Lemonheads, immediately after the show at the Øya Festival in Oslo


-Autumn 2004, Minor Majority will play at the Popkomm Festival in Berlin, Germany. In November, the band will do a two week tour in France and Switzerland.

Mit "Up For You & I" präsentieren MINOR MAJORITY aus Norwegen eine songwriterische Perle zwischen Rock und Pop - eine melancholisch, akustische Scheibe welche an sich eher untypisch für Metal-Inside ist. Ein paar Nachfragen bei der in Norwegen mit Gold ausgezeichneten Band sind da mal ganz interessant.
