BiografieThe Story of those, who live Next in the Line

The beginning -the first breath of the band fulfilled at some dark night (have heard this one before, uh?!), in some dark place (okay...in Puikko!) while the year 2003 was crawling towards it´s end. Guitarists Olli Liukkonen and Teemu Muuri had been spreading their personal madness with bands Breeding Chamber and Gata (not together...own bands ´y know). They realized that now was time for a new "child" -the one they we´re going to form together.

The first idea was to start somekind of a side-project just to balance their intrests of playing music...it had to include something they could not even consider playing with their present bands..."unfortunately" as time went by the side project grew from a tiny baby to a preeching monster. The third part of the starting group was Maiju Felin (keyboards), but after a while she left the band ´cos of other intrests. Other players were found nearby as Petri (Breeding Chamber) joined to take care of the drumming and Aleksi Pöyry (Gata) was hired to handle the bass-work. Yet unnamed beast still needed a singer, so after a while Petri asked Henri Eerola to check ´em out -he came, he heared and he stayed.

It didn´t take long for the new band to conquer parts from members hearts. The unique sound they had created surprised them all...they just couldn´t take that sick smile from their faces. The sound was a weird mixture of playing members own personal influences (check out the band-section!) while Eerola´s narrow-minded ideas filled the songs into something haven´t heard before. Ruff guitars, action rock -solos, soft and raw vocals...darker lyrical point of view...agressive drums...personal bass...sick speed and calm parts -just imagine! (or listen...) This is heavymusic´s new coming...this is Next In Line. The only problem is what to say people who are asking "what does your band sound like?"...well, YOU tell us!!

After playing about six months together NIL had composed enough music to separate the best three songs for a demo. One weekend Olli met Arttu Horttanainen (ex-Kaupunginorkesteri, also mixed for example Breeding Chamber and Instant Clarity) somewhere in Kotka´s nightlife. ´cos Horttanainen was drunk, he immediatily promised to record demo for NIL. Just afterwards he asked bands name and musicial style...(!!).

So band and producer went to Pumppulaitos-studio (used for example in Omnium Gatherum-and ID:Exorcist-sessions) and recorded everything in one sunny day. The result pleased the band...and at least little the producer. The sound was unbelieveble for a one day session!!

For now band consentrates in sending the demo to record labels etc. and selling it as much as possible (after all we do this only for money!! :D). In July "deathrace" will slow as Olli and Petri step into military service. But hopefully we get some gigs...´cos playng live is the main point of this all! The massacre continues...Quelle: http://www.nil-todie.cjb.net/Discografie2004 - Brand New Burning PileUnderdog

Brand New Burning Pile - Cover
Die skandinavische Neigung zum musikalischen Inzest ist ja wohlbekannt und macht mittlerweile auch vor "kleineren” Bands nicht mehr halt.
