Band:

Tobruk

BiografieBirmingham’s TOBRUK, purveyors of fine melodic hard rock, released just one album for EMI / Parlophone records in the tuneful shape of the Lance Quinn produced ‘Wild On The Run’. Having produced Bon Jovi, this was a job Quinn was well qualified for. The results were excellent, and now the album sees it’s first official release here, complete with authoritative sleeve notes form Classic Rock magazine scribe Dave Ling and the addition of both sides of the band’s original Neat records single.

The band recorded a second album but where sadly dropped by EMI prior to it’s release (it was belatedly released by FM Revolver records), and although they ploughed on manfully for a couple of years following this set back, the band never again soared to the dizzy heights of their debut album release.

Wild On The Run - Cover
So in den frühen Achtzigern, da war, lacht nicht, Bon Jovi relativ hart (vor allem verglichen mit sich selbst). Und es gab einen Haufen amerikanische Haar-Spray-Bands, die Riesenerfolge feierten.
