F I R S T S T E P S



Stefan and Andy began their cooperation long before this common project. In 1996 Andy first met Stefan with his band Lanfear at the Audicom-Studio in Heilbronn there he engineered and coproduced their debut album "Towers".


They kept in contact and so the second CD from Lanfear "Zero Poems" was again produced by Andy and recorded at his own studio "Famous Kitchen" in Adelsheim. After finishing the successful "Zero Poems" they decided to work on new material for an own project. A friendship and the vision of ZHORN was born.



T H E S T O R Y C O N T I N U E S . . .


In the meantime Stefan and Lanfear split because of some difference but without bad blood. Andy was busy in producing and engineering albums as "Symmetry" (ANGUISH), "Naive" (T), "ZaZen" (Teradélie) among many others.


Then, in winter 2001, Andy and Stefan began the recordings for their first CD "Z Comes First", ...the time has come for ZHORN. They forced themselves to record the album they´ve always dreamed of, with songs in the vein of their influences out of the 80´s and 90´s.




M U S I C A L S T Y L E



The sound of ZHORN is not easy to describe. Some songs are in the proggy vein of "Zero Poems", some are drifting to the singer/song-writer-edge, other songs are surrounded by hard rock or modern pop. All is very unique - and it all fits together.




L Y R I C S



The lyrics for the album are a very important part for Stefan. No more fantasy, just the real life. For the first time he wrote about himself, his fears, his dreams and his inner depths. He called them "self therapy for a twisted but still positive and visionary mind". Sometimes cryptic (Private Ghost, White Blanket), sometimes straight in your face (What I Feel Today, Not Enough) you can follow his thoughts and dreams. It is still outstanding poetry (as it was on "Zero Poems") but this time easier to understand - and even to think about it. The main theme on "Z comes first" is the gift to hold on to your dreams and never to give up.


He is looking forward to speak about the lyrics and the different interpretations.
