DOMINATION is a thrash metal band with average age 20 years old hailing from Athens, Greece (The band is currently based in the U.K.).
Domination was formed in late 2011 by the brothers Ares & Alpha Karatzas (guitarist & drummer, respectively) guitarist Kostas Evangeliou, vocalist Theo Papadopoulos. After a few live appearances the band worked with the producer Bob Katsionis (Firewind, Outloud) at “Sound Symmetry Studios” in June 2012 to record their first EP entitled "Realm of Crisis" which was released in July of 2012. The EP distracted a few reviews, like that in the Greek HEAVY METAL &METAL HAMMER magazine (No: 335) in which they voted us as “Debut of the month” (9/10). After a few major concerts the band hit the studio again in January 2013 to begin the recording of their first mini-album "The Sacred Matrix" that was released in 19 April 2013 the same day the band played in Gagarin205 along with the Greek thrash metal titans Suicidal Angels and 2 of Greece's most promising Thrash metal bands: Exarsis and Bio-Cancer. HEAVY METAL& METAL HAMMER supports our efforts a lot and gives us the opportunity to show our work to the Greek metal community. The band participated in “The tribute album to Metallica”, titled “And Covers for All” , also in “The tribute album to pantera”, also to a CD with some very promising Greek thrash metal bands and finally Domination appeared in TV WAR at MAD TV.
A lot of web sites and magazines from all over the world (like Germany, England, Poland, Italy, Mexico, and more) have accommodated Domination by reviewing their work or interviewing the band members. All of the releases above, were supported by a lot of shows and festivals, such as: "Schoolwave 2013 Festival”, “Music Breakpoint vol. 9”, "Schoolwave 2014 Festival” (where Sakis Tolis from Rotting Christ come on the stage as a guest and sang 2 songs with Domination), “Total Metal Festival”, etc.. The band have shared the stage with bands such as Kreator, Moonspell, Annihilator, Behemoth, Decapitated, Sepultura and many more. In summer of 2014 the band starts the recordings of the “Infants of Thrash” album. The album was recorded at Basement Studio, Athens GR, produced by Chris Tsoukalas and Michalis @Basement Studio. Mixed by Dionisis Christodoulatos @CFN Recondings Studios and mastered by Andy Classen @Stage One Studio. JOHN KEVILL from WARBRINGER is featured in the song Demonstration Of Democracy” and The Album was released on 3 August 2015. Domination supported their first full-length release by playing their new album live on 27, July at Milan, Italy and supporting the thrash metal legends, Seputlura, a release live in Athens and many more shows and festivals. Also, during 2015 the band gained a lot of stage experience mainly abroad.
