NIGHTWISH konnten gleich fünf der finnischen "Emmas" mit nach Hause nehmen, ihr Album "Once" wurde als "Metal Album" und "Bestverkaufendes Album des Jahres" ausgezeichnet, NIGHTWISH waren die "Band des Jahres", bekamen den "Export-Emma" und den Publikumspreis. Bassist Marco Hietala hielt eine sehr engagierte Dankesrede, in der er mit dem Casting-Wahnsinn aufräumte:

"We have a band, in which real people play and sing. Real people who are making music for themselves on the road that they´ve themselves chosen. This is no competition, where money is taken away from the teens and their parents, just by putting television companies, record companies and their hit making composers and phonecompanies into somekind of unholy alliance."
