Biografie

Uncanny, dirty and nihilistic: these words describe the music of Desalmado just as well as the claustrophobic South American metropolis they hail from, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Desalmado are today at the forefront of Sao Paulo’s underground scene and have played numerous concerts, including a coveted opening slot for Swedish Death Metal monsters Entombed.

Formed in 2004 under the name of El Fuego, the band played gigs throughout Sao Paulo and surrounding cities. From its very inception, Desalmado took on a solid approach towards grindcore, with lyrics in Spanish. In 2005 the group put out its first demo which led to the release of its 2006 self-titled debut album. Despite being a simple production, the album was very well received by fans in the local scene and beyond. Only 200 copies were made and the album is currently out of print. In 2008 Desalmado released its highly anticipated ‘Hereditas,’ EP which was recorded by the current lineup.

Desalmado is now putting the finishing touches on their upcoming full length album, to be released by Greyhaze Records in the summer of 2011.
