Biografie

Genesis

ARTEFACT was started in 2000 by two guitarists : Guillaume and Pascal. Together they compose several songs and record their first demo tape but the band can´t perform gigs without a stable rythmic formation.



Rising power...

In 2002 Guillaume and Pascal met Alexis (bass) and Nicolas (drums), who played formerly in OKTOPOD. The band works on its ows songs and covers many metal bands like DISSECTION, EMPEROR, CRADLE OF FILTH, AT THE GATES and DIMMU BORGIR.


Pascal then leaves the band because of a lack of time. ARTEFACT goes on as a power trio for some months, and record their first demo CD.




First gigs, first LP

Soon after the recording of the second demo, a new guitarist, Camille, joins ARTEFACT. The new line-up is stronger with two guitars and makes several gigs in their region.


In 2003 ARTEFACT records their first LP. The new CD contains unreleased songs and older ones greatly enhanced more maturity. The LP was released in april 2004.


After the recording of the LP, a new change occurs in the line-up of ARTEFACT : Pascal joins the band again and replaces Camille. A new singer, Sebastien, joins also the band.
