BiografieGuenter Schulz - guitars, bass & programming

Educated at the Blankeneser Konservatorium and the Universitaet Hamburg (both in Germany), Guenter Schulz´s study of classical guitar and influence of Carl Orff and Stravinsky is apparent upon hearing his musical finesse. This training lends a cultured edge to his playing, and combined with the more contemporary influences of John McLachlan, Goldie and Einstürzende Neubauten, unquestionably contributed to the success of KMFDM, the industrial rock group with which he was main guitarist, co-producer and songwriter in the 90s. With KMFDM, he recorded 9 full length CDs and recorded soundtrack work for Mortal Kombat, Johnny Mnemonic and Bad Boys, all the while touring extensively throughout the USA and Europe.

In addition to this work, Schulz has remixed music for Rammstein, Skinny Puppy, Dink, Front 242, Pig, Die Krupps, as well as produced remakes of songs by Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin, NIN, AC/DC, and Van Halen. He participated in location sound recording and soundtrack composition for the documentary "So Good, So Far", shot on location in Ghana, Africa, and has had his photographs published in entertainment magazines.

In all, Schulz is credited on over 20 albums. Furthermore, over the last few years, he has produced 3 albums for and toured with his band Slick Idiot, participated in the North American tour of "supergroup" Pigface, created various remixes for international bands, and has produced and recorded for a multitude of other bands.

Jeff Borden - vocals & lyrics

Born to a father who was a jazz drummer in the 50s, it is no surprise that Jeff Borden began playing drums at 9 years old to Ray Charles. His first live performance was at 13 covering CCR songs, having been snuck into the club by his father.

After discovering the Vancouver punk scene in the late 70s and being profoundly impacted by the scene´s philosophy and life style, he trained with Ray Ayotte (the founding member of Drums Only and Ayotte Drums). He began his musical career in the Scene as a drummer in 1979, and for over 18 years went on to play with such notable bands as Der-Mittelgang, House of Commons and Silent Gathering.

Influenced by the multi-dimensional music and writing of artists such as Ian Curtis and Joy Division, Crawling Chaos, Social Distortion, DOA, Section 25, Alan Vega/Suicide, Gun Club, The Damned, Nick Cave, Swans and Killing Joke, with SCHULZ Borden moves out from behind the drums to take front stage with his distinctive growl and seasoned sensibilities.

His ability to communicate, in part due to his training as a counselor and in part due to assimilating his own life experiences, creates music that is both accessible and compelling. Combined with his inherent showmanship and extroverted stage presence, Borden unabashedly gives vent to that which makes him, and indeed us, angry, incensed and frustrated.

What Apology - Cover
Was beginnt wie ein britisches Old-School-Punk-Album, mutiert zu einer abwechslungsreichen Pop-Electro-Punk-Rock-Industrial-Metal-Scheibe. Was vergessen? Ich glaube ja, macht aber nix.
