BiografieContrary to a lot of bands you can read about on myspace, Sael was not founded in 1983, did not record an ultra cult limited to 2 copies rehearsal that same year, to finally release its first demo in 2007. The band was actually founded in 2002 in Munich (Ger) by Raphael along with Odem Arcarum members (C.A. on Drums and Arioch on Bass). The first demo "Moonlit Mutilation", was recorded by Boris Ascher from Metamorphosis in 2003, and released on CDR to 120 handnumbered copies later that year. There also might be a tape edition from that demo, supposedly limited to 66 handnumbered copies, but it is highly probable that only the 20 copies sent to the band do actually exist. Anyway, don't buy it.

Back in France, Raphael did gather friends from Asmodee (VR on Drums and TC on Bass) and Annthennath (Lyshd, on guitars). This line-up recorded a track called Strychnine for a split 7" with finnish Azaghal. This piece of vinyl was released by Sabbath's fire records in 2004.
Serge from Acarus Sacropt later joined on vocals, as did MG from Asmodee on Synths/FX. This line-up recorded the "Ocean" Ep on a loooooong period of time beetween 2004 and 2006. It was released early 2007 on CD by Pictonian Records, as its first release.

TC, willing to concentrate his efforts on Asmodee, left the bass duties to MG.

2007, Sael did record an Ulver cover (Hymne VI from Nattens Madrigal) for an online tribute to ulver
A track was also recorded for the tribute to Arnold Böcklin's Toteninsel (Vendlus Records)
The band is now working on the first LP to be released early 2009 by Pictonian on CD.
