Band:

Nadir

BiografieAfter an endless period of silence, in the summer of 95, singer Vicent and bassist Anselmo of former Deat formation Obscure decided to start a brand new project with a slower and heavier approach to music, inspired by sad melodies. They agreed to call it Nadir, which means the lowest point of the sun, as opposed to the zenith. The band finally was completed with Marce on the subtler bass, Jose Antonio on guitar and David on drums. After only a couple of shows and hard rehearsing, Nadir recorded a full live demo with eight tracks - not with the aim to be released, just to find gigs and contacts. It was called "The Lowest Of The Low" and included a powerful cover of Celtic Frost´s "Necromantical Screams". Soon thereafter, the band noticed some public response and put their efforts into recording the first official album to date. It is called "Fall From Grace" and was recorded in a few sessions at the Llaella Estudis in Benirredrà (València - Spain). In the meantime and after the recording sessions were somewhat scheduled, the guitar player left the band although he accepted to record the album tracks. Recently, Nadir also incorporated keyboard player Xavi for the purpose of live shows. "Fall From Grace" has been self edited and it depicts some very special moments of anger, frustration, misery, lyricism and bitter glimpses of how death in life can be and really is. All this mounted on very loud and heavy bass lines, a strong and sick melodic approach, evil keyboard sounds and an irate and powerful screaming. Sick Goth Doom Metal is what you can find in the CD if you happen to listen to it. Don´t miss it, for your misanthropy will be rewarded. The latest line-up changes will probably help the band reach the sicker and catchier direction they are heading to. Currently, Nadir is writing new material and plays live as much as possible. Live shows with bands such as Moonspell, Napalm Death, Nasum and other important national bands will hopefully keep on happening. Last addition to the band (in 2002) was guitarist Hector, shortly before the pre production of the next album started. This time, Nadir decided to get an outside producer to give their sound a fresher and different edge. So pre production of the MCD went on at the home studio of previous guitar player J. A. Serrano. A bigger studio (APK) was booked this time to record the 5-tracker, a prowess accomplished in only five days. This is how "Big Open Wound" finally came into existence.Quelle: http://www.hardebaran.comDiscografie2003 Big Open Wound (Mini-CD)
