Biografie The son of two musicians, Michael Harris was born into a musical world in the Ohio heartland. Exposed to jazz influences by his father and classical music by his mother, he became serious about music when he took up the trumpet at age11. Playing in the school band for three years, Michael´s future was altered forever when he discovered the guitar. He became instantly obsessed, and in 6 months had formed his first band with high school friends.

Michael then got his first taste of musical success immediately following his high school graduation, performing with his new band Tyrant. Following several changes in lineup, Tyrant evolved as Arch Rival. With the release of two EPs and three full length CDs, Arch Rival gained massive commercial and critical success in Europe and Japan. Following his move to Dallas, Texas, Michael formed Surgeon, once again to take the overseas markets by storm.

As if two largely successful bands wasn´t enough, Michael has continued to maintain a very successful solo career (in the midst of all these other projects), which has now become his primary focus, and has released his 4th solo progressive instrumental work, "Sketches From the Thought Chamber", worldwide on IMF records.
