BiografieMaruta was concieved in late 2005. After being in several south floridian grindcore and metal acts, founding members Mitchell Luna and Nick Augusto had the intentions of starting an abrasive grind/powerviolence band. Maruta managed to pump out half a dozen songs and immediatey began playing shows only a mere two weeks after their inception in the Dade/Broward county area.

A 4 song demo was released shortly thereafter. 420 copies were sold/traded/given away. Less than a year into the bands existence, the band teamed up with guitar player Eduardo Borja. Without hesitation, Maruta continued to write more material and play several out of town shows/tours. This landed them a 2 album record deal with Willowtip, a label that represents the same ideals and "foward thinking" mentatlity that Maruta has in regards to their approach to songwriting and overall taste. Needless to say, the boys felt right at home when the deal went through, and plan to tour consistently in 2008 after the release of the bands debut full length "In Narcosis".
