Band:

Dysrhythmia

Biografie

Formed in March of 1999, this Philadelphia trio emits an energy unlike any other band you have seen. Forget about tradition, destroy your record collection, hold your ears. DYSRHYTHMIA crafts music so bold and indefinable that they create their own genre, from full-on balls-out rock, to gentle, tight, atmospheric soundscapes that will lull you into their world while your hands are shaking trying to get out. Influences vary from progressive rock and metal to indie-rock sensibilities, avant-jazz, and ambient mesmerism. With four U.S. tours under their belts, DYSRHYTHMIA have left in their wake the real definition of high energy rock, and the legend of three guys who will not stop their sonic assault on your idea of performance. The line-up in Clayton Ingerson-bass, Kevin Hufnagel-guitar, and Jeff Eber-drums. DYSRHYTHMIA has shared the stage and held their own against such acts as: The Dillinger Escape Plan, Isis, Discordance Axis, Nels Cline/Gregg Bendian, Stinking Lizaveta, Ruins (Japan), Circle (Finland), The Oxes, Ultra Bide, The Rapture, Technician, Uz Jsme Doma (Prague), along with countless others.

The execution of their music is by far one of their more impressive feats. The amount of fury and penetration they achieve in a live setting sets a new standard for musicians everywhere. Instantly engaging, confusing, and wild, they deliver over and over, in a style that is both tight and precise. They show a mastery over their instruments that is seldom seen on the dirty stages they inhabit. Starting with ´Contradiction´ CD (self released) 2000 and their current release ´No Interference´ 2001 (distributed by Tranquillity Base Records) and ´Annihilation´ 2001 (split 10" with XthoughtstreamsX, Rice Control Records) DYSRHYTHMIA have documented the blows they can deliver to an ever-increasing degree of intensity and energy. With two more releases scheduled this year (split 7" with Technician/Tranquillity Base Records) and a third full-length CD "Pretest" (due out on Relapse Records in May 2003). DYSRHYTHMIA have only just begun venting the power locked up in their endless supply of talent and aggression. - Gregory Nangle
