Defuse

The finnish natives DEFUSE play low-tuned, energetic rock with attitude. The band was in it´s early state, when Arzhie and Hylzy met in the end of the year 2000. It was clear for both of them that music should be played with guts and wrench and this activity was very familiar from their previous projects such as Zerocharisma and Bleeding Nation. So later Hylzy brought in the second axeman Timo, AEON´s Jerkko was found to the drummer´s throne and he knew Ville for the bass. And the band was formed... The first recording was made in december 2000 in their rehearsal chamber. It was a live take, in which MiniDisc was used. It ended up to be judged in local press and the reviews were encouraging. Few months ahead and the band was in a real studio. The place was Studio Watercastle (JKL) and the sound engineer was Arttu Sarvanne. He made an awesome job and the results can be heard as a blasting Promo CD (by the way, the tunes can be downloaded for free from "Media"-section). The band made grand PR with those Promos and spread ´em around for some attention in press and record companies. Check out "Links" for some press reviews and some local magazines. The band went to studio once again in late summer 2001 in Kuopio, this time to Studio Sound with mixmaster Janne Tolsa from Tarot, to record a bunch of new powerchords. The finalizing is a matter of time and patience, but it´ll be available quicker than you might expect...

The blokes are experienced a lot, when it comes to play live, thanks to years of beein´ in the scene. So DEFUSE gigs are powerful and enjoyable. The first ones were made at 2.0 DayMusicExplosion fest in spring 2001 in Kuopio. Other gigs from the past : Projekti74, JKL summer happening, Jörisrock 2001, Kerubi/Joensuu ETC.
