Band:

Core (A)

Biografie Chris and Sascha are schoolmates and form a band in 1986. Two years later they come across Harry, who shares Chris and Sascha´s musical vision of creating and playing their own material.
So, in 1991 the trio found the band Paradise Now! New on board: singer Markus.
Signed by BMG Ariola Austria in 1996, the band releases two albums and performs as the supporting act for U2 (Pop Mart Tour), The Rolling Stones (Bridges To Babylon), Lenny Kravitz, Marilyn Manson, Live and many more.
The collaboration between Paradise Now! and BMG Austria ends in 2000 and in February of 2002 a creative crisis takes its toll: Chris, Sascha and Harry split from singer Markus. Chris takes over lead vocals.

The newly found (and regained) identity of the band leads to a new name - CORE, best describing the trio´s rediscovered focus on their original musical core. The reduction to the basic elements of their vision become key to the band´s new sound.
In March of 2002 the trio starts writing new songs.
In May they record a demo-EP with their longtime-friends and producers Beat4Feet in Vienna.

In June Chris and Sascha travel to Los Angeles to shop their material. They spark the interest of Anouk Zisa-Bongiovi (XIII Bis Rec. L.A.) who makes sure the EP finds its way to the desk of Medhi El Jai (director of XIII Bis Rec) in Paris who wants to sign the band immediately. In October the band travels to France to visit the Paris-based independent label and to sign the deal. Upon their return to Austria the writing and recording goes on. By November the album is finished.
And in spring of 2003 the debut-album "away" is released in Europe.
