BiografieCensored was founded in 1994 in Zurich by Manuel Früh (Bass / Vocals), Marcel Zilic (Guitar) and Niklas Naumann (Drums).
After various changes regarding singers and musical influences we finally stuck with our present lineup and songwriting.
This trio which has been forming the band’s core since the beginning seems to be the best setting for the band, resulting in dynamic and power in the songs and on stage.

Our music has meanwhile developed to fast, intense death metal. Strong US-metal influences combined with grindcore / brutal death and as well some hardcore riffs are characteristic for the hard sound of censored.
The lyrics on the other hand treat mostly political and social critical subjects and are sometimes rather philosophic or even depressive.

Our first real CD (Censored – Red Edition), which is a rerecorded edition of the former demo from 2001, was recorded in July 2002 at the Tectorial Studios in Embrach (CH).
Having played numerous concerts in Switzerland we went on an Eastern European tour together with Cropment (CH) playing concerts in I, SLO, SK, PL and CZ.
In summer 2002 we also participated in some festivals as the Krhanice Open Air in Krhanice (CZ), the Mountains of Death Festival in Muotathal (CH) and the Hellvetia Day 2 in Sursee (CH).

Shortly thereafter the second CD (System Disease) was recorded at the Dynamo Studios in Zürich and mastered by Glenn Miller at the Greenwood Studios in Nunningen (CH).
At the beginning of February 2003 censored’s CD-release party took place at the Dynamo Zürich, whereafter we had another one-week-tour, this time to Western Europe together with Tribes of Caïn (CH), with performances in D, BE and E.
During the following time various concerts and festivals were played i.e. 2003 the Grenchen Open Air in Grenchen (CH) and 2004 the Soul Grinding Festival in Strassbourg (F). In the same year they went again on a France/Spain-Tour together with Baalphegor (E) and Cropment (CH).
In 2005 Censored played further festivals as the Heavymetal.ch festival at the Gaswerk Winterthur (CH) and the schwermetall.ch festival at Industrie 45, Zug (CH). 2006 Censored did a great show on the successfull Bleeding Forest Open Air, Rickenbach (CH).

In summer 2005 the production of the new promising full length album „In-Existence” was started at the Eversound Studios Effretikon. The new CD will be released this very september!
After the CD release a new France/Spain tour is planned.
