Band:

Antiquus

BiografieIn a sea of bands withering on the trends of today, one Canadian act thrives on originality, and stands like no other. Mixing the raw, oldschool roots derived from their 80´s metal influence with a fresh, melodic, and more modern touch, Vancouver´s ANTIQUUS have crafted a sound that can only be described with one word: HEAVY.

Bassist Scott Unger, vocalist Jesse White, drummer Andrew Bak and guitarists Trevor Leonard and Geoff Way released the first ANTIQUUS album, ´Ramayana´, to much critical acclaim in February, 2005. The album recieved rave reviews from more than 60 publications, including such prestigious magazines as Canada´s ´Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles´, Germany´s ´Heavy Oder Was?´, and the American ´Metal Maniacs´, to name a few. Word spread quickly, and the band started getting radio airplay in Europe, South America, and Australia. By June, word about ANTIQUUS had spread around the world.

Back home in Canada, the members of ANTIQUUS decided to hit the road. The band did it´s first tour across Western Canada at the end of July and into August, thrilling audiences with renditions of songs from ´Ramayana´, as well as brand new material. It was an exhausting trip for the band, and they decided to take the remainder of the month off. It was at that time that ANTIQUUS finalized negotiations for a recording contract with Italy´s ´Cruz Del Sur Music´.

The deal will see ANTIQUUS release their next album in the fall of 2006. In the meantime, the band continues to write, perform, and promote their current album. A new partnership is bieng formed with ´The End Records´, who will handle distribution, and a stronger web presence will soon be secured with the help of ´Molten Image Media´.

ANTIQUUS are a band without borders, unrestricted by limitations and fortified with a sense of storytelling and
imagination. Though many changes have occured throughout their career, the goal of ANTIQUUS remains the same: to create vast soundscapes and communicate interesting ideas through sound and song, without ever compromising artistic integrity for commercial success.Quelle: http://www.antiquus.netDiscografieRamayana - CD 2005
