THE CURE sind gerade dabei an ihrem zwölften Album zu werkeln. Bisher haben sie dafür schon 27 Songs als Demos aufgenommen. Allgemein soll dieses Album, das im nächsten Sommer erscheinen soll, härter werden, als man von The Cure gewohnt ist. Für den richtigen Sound soll dann Ross Robinson sorgen, der auch schon Nu-Metal- Bands wie Korn, Limp Bizkit und Slipknot produziert hat.


Die Heavyness erklärt Robert folgendermaßen:

"The heavier sound we´re going for is more to do with the tempos and dynamics and the space were leaving", he says. "The more space you leave, the heavier you get. It´s actually the antithesis of the new-metal assault, which is all about piling things on. It´s going back to the Faith period, but making the sounds themselves a lot heavier and more savage."


Die Aufnahmen sollen im Februar beendet sein und im Sommer soll dann das Album erscheinen.
