The Crooked Fiddle Band

(Underdog)
Biografie The Crooked Fiddle Band are a young, high-octane four piece from Sydney, Australia, cooking up a storm with their musical version of 'Modern Australian Cuisine' - taking exotic spices and moorish delights from around the world, chopping them up, mashing them together into a rissole and throwing them on the barbie...

From furious Romanian melodies, bluegrass swampstompers and punked up Celtic reels to tragic gypsy airs and Appalachian laments, the band's energetic performances delight a truly diverse audience with hard-core folkies, earth-children, inner city punks and teeny-boppers drawn in by swung groove, tear-jerking sorrow and mosh-pit intensity.

The Crooked Fiddle Band's blend of the traditional with the contemporary has proven to be a hit at festivals such as Peat's Ridge, Newtown Festival and the Woodford Folk Festival fringe.

In Sydney the band has played gigs at The Vanguard, The Basement, The Gaelic Theatre and The Factory (amongst others) and has been touring regularly to Melbourne, Newcastle and Canberra. The band also has plans to tour overseas.Quelle: http://www.crookedfiddleband.com/Discografie2008 s/t EP
