Band:

Room With A View

BiografieRome is living a very special day. There is a super show at the Opera
House, in all the most fashionable artists´ presence. A glamorous parade
that would have never been performed again: ten different orchestras on
a mobile stand, a rare magnificence of feathers and sequins.
A letter reached the young mayor collaborator, who co-ordinated the adhesions:
<but once we were a good band.
We would be glad to take part
in your show.

Room With A View >>.

They appear on the bandstand wearing dark blue tailcoats and silk-hats,
with faces made pale by powder and eyes swallen because of sleepless
nights. They sing a love treason deception, looking for the strength to
sneer at fate, in dissolutness.
The audience is puzzled and listens in absolute silence. Then encores
the band, acclaiming.
"Room With A View" sing the ambiguos, autoironic, decadent scenery of
unreal nights of a pseudo-cultured and pro-aristocratic new bourgeois class.
They leave their last audience, with biting irony avoiding that fatuous
unreal world which was shattering like a fragile champagne glass.

Emotions, suggestions and melodies in rapid succession, evoking the
cadence of old crank little organ, in a timeless record, full of black and
white snapshots.
Polkas, little marches, soft requiems, once-posh nightclubs and maharajas: welcome
to the "Room With A View" world, a street theatre where puppets and
clowns play tag and where, between a waltz step and a dream, you can
travel from Trieste to Stalingrad to Salonika
