Band:

The Resurrection Sorrow

(Underdog)
BiografieHailing from New York City, The Resurrection Sorrow is the brainchild of vocalist Alex Dementia and bassist/guitarist Alex Coelho. Favoring a riff-oriented blend of metal and dark rock, the duo crafts hook-laden anthems and delivers them with a vitality that is as rare as it is awe inspiring.

Dementia and Coelho began writing together in early 2008. The foundation was rooted in their desire to put together a band free from the hipster pretentiousness and snobbery running rampant in New York. The idea was to play heavy music the way they wanted to hear it. Period. Nodding to various rock and metal icons from the past four decades, the common ground was “the resurrection” of an aesthetic and energy in rock that has been scarce in recent years.

Over a period of several months, Dementia and Coelho demoed a myriad of ideas, bouncing tapes back and forth and shaping what was to be TRS’s debut. With the assistance of drummer Louie Gasparro, they entered the studio in January of 2009 to begin tracking. Engineered by Joe Hogan (Nebula, The Atomic Bitchwax) the full length “Hour of the Wolf” is an exercise in sonic might, and a barbaric trek across a swampy, post-apocalyptic desolation. TRS demonstrated their aptitude for both dirge and destruction, with the head nodding moodiness of “Plague of the Dying Sun” to the violent blast of “Supernatural Suffocation” to the utterly rocking “Soul of the Soulless”. “Hour of the Wolf” received a continual flow of praise from critics who recognized a distinct conviction to what the band was doing. “The chops, intensity, desire, and sincerity are all there in spades...It's hard to ignore execution this good." - Metro Spirit

2010 saw a heavy dose of touring through the Northeast, South and Midwest with a smattering of memorable appearances in NYC. As a live experience, TRS is absolutely dominant. The depthy voice and commanding presence of frontman Alex Dementia, coupled with the band’s tight, high voltage onslaught garnered them widespread recognition as the real thing.

Currently, TRS is finishing work on an EP scheduled for a Spring of 2011 release date. They are intensely ambitious and managed to cover a tremendous amount of ground in their brief lifespan. If the enthusiasm they've generated from fans and critics is any indication of the band's future, this is an act to keep your eyes on during their unholy ascension.Quelle: http://www.myspace.com/resurrectionsorrowDiscografie2009 - Hour Of The Wolf
