DEAD MAN IN RENO are busy these days. Really busy. Between a video shoot and preparations for their tour, Chris used his BlackBerry® wireless handheld to answer my questions in a rather short way. Interview Your debut album will be released in a few day. Are you excited
about it?

Yes we´ve been anticipating it for so long......it is a dream come
true

You have been a well-known band at MySpace. How important was your web presence for getting a deal?

The web is just another way for bands to promote. We think its more our drive and passion that got us signed.....the web just aided.

You also toured a lot - how important is touring for a young band?

Touring and playing live is our top priority as a band.

Do you enjoy touring life? What are your most remarkable memories of
your tours?

Touring has its ups and downs...but there is nothing else we´d
rather do. So far I would say the best touring experience was
when a guy in a band we were touring with ate a roach from a cheap hotel
room for 5 bucks...it was amazing!

Sspeaking of your album: who created the cover? Is it related to a
particular song (and its lyrics)?

Paul Jackson created the cover....it has no reference to any song.

Why did you take Dead Man In Reno as band name? Is it a reference
to a movie or a song?

Johnny Cash inspired the name before "Walk the Line" was released, it´s from a line in his song "Folsom Prison Blues".

What makes your album better then other metalcore-albums? Why should
a fan buy it?

Our album was written with no intent to imply a specific
style. We write what we like and what we feel. A fan gets something different out of each song, that is why a fan should pick it up.

What do you think of the current metalcore-boom? Good or bad?

We don´t think about that kind of thing. Its not about what is popular right
now, again, it is what we feel at that time in our writing process.

What are your further plans for 2006? will you tour the european
mainland after the uk-tour?

We actually will tour the USA. When we get back,
hopefully we´ll take on a full European tour in the future
