Biografie Transient is a female fronted grindcore band that emerged from the pits of Portland Oregon in 2008.



They self-released their debut 7” record, an EP of grimy tracks recorded with Mike Lastra at Smegma Studios and toured the West Coast and Southwest following the 2008 release of a split 7” with Manias/ Sale Sangre (Albequerque, NM).



Transient wrote and recorded for their third release in 2009, a split 7” with This Runs on Blood (Flagstaff, AZ) on End Theory Records. This record was followed by a split 7” with Portland grinders Superbad on Hellnear Records.



They then toured the East Coast and released a split 10” record with The Communion (Bethpage,NY) on Midnight Sea Records. This was followed by a another tour of the Western United States with The Communion.



In 2009 and 2010 Transient also released music on Amputape, Summerfector, released by Defector PDX in Portland, OR, PDX Pop Now 2010, and 100 in 10, a 10” record that features 100 bands with songs under 30 seconds, released by Intellect Records.



Transient recorded for their next release with Elitist in 2010. After the tragic death of Lee Altomare of The Communion, Transient took a short hiatus in the fall of 2010. They reemerged in the spring of 2011 with drummer Jesse Shreibman.



Transient released a 7” split with Elitist on Relapse Records in Spring, 2011 and toured with Elitist in February 2011. In Summer 2011, Stefan Thompson joined on guitar and Transient toured the US with Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire.



This tour was cut short after a car jumped the highway median and collided with them near Savannah, Georgia, totaling their van and injuring members. Vocalist, Krysta Martinez, was airlifted and hospitalized after sustaining serious injuries.



After some recovery and much support from the music community, Transient toured with Theories in Fall 2011.



Transient recorded their first full length LP with Brandon Fitzsimons October 2012 at Sound House Studios, soon to be mastered at Earhammer, scheduled for release mid summer 2013 (label to be announced). We also have plans to record in the very near future for our upcoming split 3″ with Hummingbird of Death (Boise, ID). We have NW dates coming up, as well as Deadfest in Oakland August 2013. Transient will be touring the West Coast/SW late summer/early fall, and the East Coast later this year. We also have firm plans to leave the country, and some other tricks up our sleeves.



Transient has shared bills with Pig Destroyer, Brujeria, Magrudergrind, Brutal Truth, Unholy Grave, Ludicra, Endless Demise, Capitalist Casualties, Poison Idea, Skarp, Iskra, Golers, Dark Castle, Sorrower, Voetsek, Hummingbird of Death, Mind of Asian, Landmine Marathon, Sin of Angels, Salome, Black Hole of Calcutta, Death of Self, Thrones, Backslider, Chainsaw to the Face, Mancruel, Raw Nerves, and Jonny X and The Groadies.
