Formed in early 2001, the four-piece Linz-Austria-based band ESTATE initially consisted of Michael Forstner (Drums), Josef "Zap" Mayer (Vocals), Paul Schausberger (Bass) and Armin Breuer (Guitar). The four of them shared the intentions to write songs that combine straight rhythms and structures, heavy yet playful riffing with both catchy singing, emotional screaming and to play as many shows as possible.

During the pre-production of the debut album several German media outlets picked up on the first demo, particularly VISIONS magazine, whose editorial staff decided to put the song "Stillbirth" off the first demo on the issues´ compilation CD and invited the band to play their set on the "Visions Stage" at the 2001 Bizarre Festival.

The debut album "Unsound" was released in April 2002 on the Linz-based indie-label "Suspect Records" and distributed by SPV. It was more than well-received by both audiences and the media. Following the release of "Unsound" the band went on a busy touring schedule, playing more than a hundred shows all across Austria, Germany and Italy, supporting bands like CIV, Shelter, DRI, Snapcase, The Hope Conspiracy, Such A Surge, Waterdown, The Flaming Sideburns, Harmful, Readymade, Favez, In Extremo, 4LYN, Farmerboy, Ektomorf and a whole lot more.

In fall 2003, after having finished writing 16 potential songs for the second album, singer Zap decided to leave the band to focus entirely on his day-job. The band continued playing live with Leo Pissenberger, at the time bass-player in ´Lawfoundguilt´ and ´Versus´, as a temporary substitute. Being a close friend of the band for some time, he fit right in. While managing to leave audiences as well as the rest of band stunned by his performances, the temporary substitute became a permanent one soon after. However, facing the reality of losing an integral part of the band, the members decided to drop the songs they´d been working on and start working on entirely new material, trying to find a new, reinforced voice.

In early 2005 ESTATE started to record six new songs. At first only intended for promotion, the band decided to release them DIY-style in the form of an EP called ´Arson Architecture´ in July 2005. While working on new material to complete a new full-lenght album the band keeps on touring.Quelle: http://www.estatemusic.netDiscografieArson Architecture (EP, 2005)
