ZENO ROTH is the younger brother of ULI JOHN ROTH who played with SCORPIONS. In 1974 he formed the band BLACK ANGEL. In 1984 he formed the band ZENO with ULE RITGEN (FAIR WARNING). They started recording for the first album “Zeno” in 1985 by using many recording studios all over the world. CHUCK BURGI, STUART ELLIOT, CARL MARSH, DON AIREY and also CHRIS THOMPSON joined this recording. ZENO toured with BLACK SABBATH, KROKUS, KEEL and also played a festival with QUEEN in UK. In 1993 the album „ZENO“ was released in Japan and sold more than 25.000 copies. In 1995 „Zenology“ was released and reached the charts. In December 1997 the third album „Listen To The Light“ was completed and released in Japan in January 1998 and reached the charts again. MTM CLASSIX was recently re-releasing his debut album „Zeno“ which was known as a sold out and sought after AOR Highlight. The album was completely remixed, remastered and featured bonustracks. "Zenology II" is a new compilation of previously unreleased ZENO songs. All of these tracks were recorded between 1983 and 1989 in studios in or around Hannover, Germany. Both, "Zenology I" and "Zenology II", represent links between the official ZENO releases, they are musical documentaries displaying the full range of Zeno´s work, with the next newly recorded ZENO studio album to be expected soon.

ZENO Roth was born in 1956. He started to play guitar on a self-taught basis. He also took violin lessons in adition to the guitar. He was interested in Blues like CREAM, JOHHNY WINTER, etc., but also in bands like YES, LED ZEPPELIN or JIMI HENDRIX. The elder brother, ULI JON ROTH joined SCORPIONS.
In 1974 he formed the band BLACK ANGEL. From 1979 until 1983 ZENO wrote a lot of songs and lyrics for his own group with changing names and people. In this period some of the later ZENO songs were written. At the same time he was playing and recording with several German groups - among others KARTHAGO.
In 1984 he formed the band ZENO with ULE RITGEN (FAIR WARNING). Many big American record companies were interested in the first demo tape. MICHAEL FLECHSIG (vocals) became a proper member of the band. ZENO signed to WARNER PUBLISHING UK in April 1984 and got a deal with EMI UK as well. They started recording for the first album ZENO in 1985 by using many recording studios all over the world. CHUCK BURGI, STUART ELLIOT, CARL MARSH, DON AIREY and also CHRIS THOMPSON joined this recording. ZENO toured with BLACK SABBATH, KROKUS, KEEL and also played a festival with QUEEN in UK.
In 1993 the album „ZENO“ was re-released in Japan. It caused a sensation in the current music scene, selling more than 25.000 copies. In 1994 ZENO got a record deal with ZERO CORPORATION in Japan and started recording for this album. In 1995 „Zenology“ was released and sold over 30.000 copies. First appearance on Japanese charts: 64 in the whole album charts (incl. Japanese market). 25 in Foreign Music Charts. Number 4 in Rock Music Charts after BON JOVI, VAN HALEN and FIREHOUSE. In 1995 ZENO was also released in Europe. In December 1995 ZENO started to write songs for the third album. In 1996 he started the recording and played all instruments on this album. In December 1997 the third album „Listen To The Light“ was completed and released in Japan in January 1998. Sales until March: 40.000 copies! First appearance on Japanese charts: 26 in the whole album charts. 6 in Foreign Music Charts. Number 2 in Rock Music Charts.
MTM CLASSIX is now re-releasing his debut album „Zeno“ which is known as a sold out and sought after AOR Highlight. The album is completely remixed and remastered and feat. one bonustrack „Don’t Count Me Out“.
