BiografieWINDFALL were formed in July 1999 by Leonidas Deligiorgis (guitars) and Iraklis Deligiorgis (bass guitar) when they were still members of HATRED, a power metal band in Kavala , a city of northern Greece. In collaboration with Tasos Karapazoglou (vocals / synths), Kostas Paraskevas (solo guitars) and Kostas Tsirpinakis (drums), all members of NEMESIS, the band began rehearsals and recordings for their personal work. The first mini-cd entitled "CRYSTALIZED" was independently released in November of 1999 and it includes 4 songs in a melodic power/speed metal style.



One month later the brothers left HATRED because of differences involving their future plans and started the composition of new material for WINDFALL. Aiming at their first contract, the band made a promo with 3 songs and the correspondence came immediately from Thessaloniki and STEEL GALLERY RECORDS. WINDFALL signed a one-release contract with STEEL GALLERY and with the addition of drummer Vagelis Bouboutinis started the recordings for their first full-length album. In October of 2001 the band released “ADAMANTIA” which included 10 tracks in a personal power metal style.



2002 was a year of many changes for the band. A change of vocalist, as Sakis Koutsasis (vocalist from the epic-speed metal band ELWING) replaced, as session member, Tasos Karapapazoglou, a change in the place of drummer with Alex Mantirakis (session member from ELWING too) and the addition of the keyboardist Kostas Giannikopoulos gave the band a new formation.



Under this new formation but also under a different label, SLEASZY RIDER RECORDS from Athens, the band began recordings for their second album. The outcome was TIME OF THE HAUNTED, a dark and much heavier album than the previous works, which was released at the mid of September of 2003.



TIME OF THE HAUNTED was the first step for a change to a darker and heavier image and style for WINDFALL. Oriented more to modern/american forms the band chose Kostas Gialos as their new drummer and Vangelis Papavasiliou as their vocalist. Finally, SECT (ex Defiler) joined WINDFALL to give the band its current formation. Under this formation WINDFALL worked and released at the end of March of 2005 with SLEASZY RIDER, their most important masterpiece, INFECTOR...
