October Falls

BiografieWithout sinking into the smallest details of the past, OCTOBER FALLS was formed in 2001 by the sole official member M.Lehto. Two years later, a demo entitled “Kaste” was recorded and in the same year, 2003, this was later partly re-recorded with the addition of new songs and released as the first official release, "Tuoni". "Tuoni" contained all acoustic music with similarities to old Ulver, late Empyrium and maybe even Tenhi. A year and a half later, in 2005, the second official release and the first full-length, "Marras", was released. The music was still classical guitar oriented, all acoustic, but piano was used a bit more and it also contained two tracks including piano only with some ambient sounds. Overall the music and arrangements were a bit more complex than "Tuoni". After the first two all acoustic releases, it was decided to leave the acoustic path behind, at least for now. The main focus on the new material was more Pagan or Black Metal orientated and the songs ended up sounding like something between Ulver’s "Bergtatt", Behemoth’s "Sventevith", old Hades and few other similar acts. As the new material kept the acoustic elements, but also added a harsher side to the music, OCTOBER FALLS also needed a drummer and a bass player, so after a short while, M.Auerkallio joined as a session-drummer and V.Metsola as a session-bassist for the MLP, "The Streams Of The End", which was released by Debemur Morti Productions. Also in 2007, October Falls released "Sarastus", an MCD showcasing the creator’s more folk-orientated side. New album "The Womb Of Primordial Nature" follows in the footsteps of "The Streams Of The End", blending folk sensibilities with harsh BM.Quelle: http://www.debemur-morti.com/default.phpDiscografie2003 - Tuoni (EP)
