Band:

I Walk The Line

BiografieI WALK THE LINE - THE STORY SO FAR...

How did we start this band... wish i could remember, it´s the same old story. We were just friends and we´d talk about different kinds of music, then we actually made it to the practice space and started jamming. All of us were playing in bands that toured quite a bit and we wanted to try something different for change. Some good songs started shaping up so we thought why not play shows too cos people started hearing about what we were doing. So we had to come up with a name...

Enter I Walk The Line. At this point Mr. Cash was still very much alive and just a cult figure here in Finland so we thought it´s kind of a cool name, something different in the punk scene and for us it talks about honesty. Well, when the man in black died and eventually the movie came out, some things about the name are a bit different but well, that´s what we are called anyway.

But back to our band, we played shows all over the place and eventually did our first album "Badlands" and toured some more. At this point our drummer Antti had too much other stuff going on in his life so he had to quit and we got our friend Jussi to play drums. This was a good change, Jussi brough so much power to this band and these days Antti is our sound guy, which he enjoys more than drumming so everybody wins!

In 2005 we took some time off from touring and concentrated on writing and practicing the songs that would become our second album "Desolation Street". We were very happy about the recording and when the album was released in 2006 it turned out that we were not the only ones. "Desolation Street" sold very well and we got to play a lot of shows all over the place, all the way to the biggest festivals here in Finland and obviously tens and tens of hot club shows also over in mainland Europe. At the end of the summer we released an EP called "Diamond Eyes" that much to our surprise entered the national charts at #2. That was a good excuse to drink also on a day we weren´t playing a show.

So... currently we are taking a break from playing shows to concentrate on some new stuff and we will be back on stage in 2007. During that year we will also tour Japan and thr US for the first time. Also Gearhead Records will re-release "Desolation Street" in January 2007 so hopefully a lot more people will get to hear it soon! We have already been able to more stuff than we ever imagined when we started to play this music and we like it so expect a lot more to come!Quelle: http://www.fireinsidemusic.com/iwalktheline/ www

Language Of The Lost - Cover
I WALK THE LINE haben mit „Black Wave Rising” ihr bis dato bestes Werk abgeliefert und ihren düster-melancholischen (typisch finnisch) Punkrock dann auch Live ansprechend präsentiert.
