Untouchable, heady, lyrical and dreamlike... Amphitryon music varies from stunning beauty to harsh metal: abyssal guitar, tribal and symphonic rhythms, classical and metal music, mixed in a very majestic way, and what about these entrancing voices? The vocal quality is really remarkable: impressive arrangements, a profound terrifying death voice, heavenly female vocals, sublime harmonization and mysterious choir which inspire something sacred.



Their magnificent astounding opus "Sumphokéras" invites you to close your eyes for an obscure journey tainted of ancient and mystical atmosphere. It brings you to an amazing dream. The song feelings are so incredibly obvious: imagine you are an eye witness of a war between ships of 16th - 17th century or lost in the middle of desert lands where reign powerful and occult entities...



Influences may be drawn from My Dying Bride to Septic Flesh or African to Ancient Greek civilization. But Amphitryon have their own avant-garde music style: mature and unique. This is therefore simply impossible to compare them to another band. Far from so much shackles they offer a real music renewal. No doubt that Amphitryon are an exceptional band.



Act II: Mnémè



The six-piece whose members are: Laurent Desvignes (guitar/vocals), Sarah Barisèle (vocals), Matthieu Scarpa (guitar/vocals), Barbara Haigneré (vocals/flute), Gianni Leone (bass/vocals) and Christophe Demazeux (drums) are from Boulogne-sur-Mer on the North West coast of France. They come over French Underground with their 1st EP entitled "l´Entremonde" which is a real success according to critics. Amphitryon are viewed as a very talented band with high quality and already founder of a new sound.



They stand out on stage, as their gauged performances are completely entrancing. People from every generations and both sex seem to be totally hypnotized by such devotion ambiance. The band always captivates with impressive and incredible charisma such as Dead Can Dance or Magma.



Amphitryon also tour with some major acts in different styles, such as Shaman, After Forever, Saxon, Paradise Lost and Therion to name a few.



Act III: Nékyia



Well defined to transcend the concept of total art into a fascinating fresco, the band undertakes the "Sumphokéras" project. This masterpiece is based on an epic novel "Le cycle d´Ephapsaménée" written by Matthieu Scarpa and artworks of painter Daniel Péron and photographer Remi Vimont. It gives the foundation of a musical concept of great width and lets the band continue his rising.



"Sumphokéras" have progressed across France and more recently into Europe and the rest of the world since signing to Thundering Records/Manitou Music in 2006. The purpose is evidently to confer on Amphitryon an international aura.



However the six-piece don´t stop their creation process and carry on stage a majestic adaptation of "Sumphokéras" musical opus with a scenography directed by Maxime Mazouat. The new show is recorded live in 2007 in order to release a DVD filmed by Emilie Desbonnet who obtained the best French video-clip award at the ´Victoires de la Musique´.
